VIPD Arrest Fugitive of Texas at Cyril E. King Airport

A woman who had a warrant out for her arrest in Texas was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Control Sunday, the V.I. Police Department reported.

At approximately 2:40 p.m., CBP at the Cyril E. King Airport notified the V.I. Police Department of a female Fugitive from Justice, identified as Fadzai Makonyonga, according to the police report.

Makonyonga was in custody on account of a warrant issued by the State of Texas. Upon officers’ arrival at the Cyril E. King Airport, CBP turned over Makonyonga to the custody of the VIPD, the police report stated.

At approximately 3:18 p.m., Makonyonga was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Bureau booked, photographed, and processed. No bail was set for Makonyonga, pending her extradition hearing, the report stated.
