Liberty has appointed Ravindra Maywahlall is the new country manager for its U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) operations.

As country manager, Maywahlall is responsible for Liberty VI’s commercial strategy and the market’s financial performance. He also has oversight of customer value propositions and leads go-to-market efforts on the ground. Maywahlall will be based in St. Thomas, USVI and report to Eduardo Díaz-Corona, senior vice president and general manager of Liberty Communications for Puerto Rico and the USVI.

“As the new country manager for our USVI operations, Ravindra Maywahlall brings extensive expertise to this role, particularly when it comes to commercial strategies that deliver what customers in this region want,” said Díaz-Corona about Maywahlall’s appointment. “We have set an excellent foundation for our business here in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and we have an amazing team of colleagues who will now work together with Ravindra to take the operations to the next level.”

Before his current position, Maywahlall served as country manager for Liberty Latin America’s operations in the British Virgin Islands and Anguilla, working with the company’s Flow brand. In that role, he was responsible for increasing the market’s revenue, operating cash flow (OCF) and market share growth.

Maywahlall previously served as head of consumer sales and services for telecom company Lime BVI. In this role, he conceptualized and developed strategies to grow the brand’s market presence and improve customer experience. He was also key in that company’s transition into the Flow brand in 2016. He began his association with the company as a broadband manager in 2004.

Maywahlall’s first order of business is continuing Liberty Mobile’s transition to its new IT platform and network core, plus overseeing the company’s Fiber-to-the-Home construction project in the USVI.

“I feel very fortunate to be a part of this incredible team and excited to work on these projects, which will revolutionize the telecommunications services and elevate USVI customer’s experience significantly,” Maywahlall said. “The transformation we are undergoing is a temporary process that will lead to permanent progress related to better customer management, service and custom-made offers.”
