St. Thomas Man Arrested for Alleged Assault of Girlfriend

A St. Thomas man was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On Monday, at about 4:49 p.m., the Domestic Violence Unit was notified of a female, 55, who reported to the police that she was assaulted by her boyfriend. The victim said that Reginald Martin struck her multiple times and pushed her, causing injuries about her body, according to the police report.

On Thursday, at 10:00 a.m., Martin was present at the Domestic Violence Unit where he refused to provide a statement regarding the incident. He was then advised of his rights and placed under arrest for simple assault, DV, the report stated.

This case is currently under investigation by the Domestic Violence Unit. Anyone having information about this crime can notify 911, the Domestic Violence Unit at 340-715-5535,
