VIDE Congratulates St. Croix Educational Complex High School on 2024 Regional Science Bowl Win

Following intense rounds of competition, St. Croix Educational Complex High School (Team 2) emerged triumphant as the 2024 High School Division Champions. The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) extends heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the 2024 Regional Science Bowl, held on Sunday, May 3. Hosted at the University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park on St. Croix, the competition showcased students’ impressive knowledge across various science disciplines, challenging them with thought-provoking questions.

Following intense rounds of competition, St. Croix Educational Complex High School (Team 2) emerged triumphant as the 2024 High School Division Champions. The winning team comprised Daryl Griffith (10th grade), Lauren Jones (10th grade), Tiera Polonco (11th grade), Myles Berkeley (11th grade) and Colum Morgan (11th grade). Their outstanding performance secured them a spot in the National Science Bowl, slated to be held in Washington D.C., from April 25 to 29.

St. Croix Educational Complex High School also clinched the 2nd place position with their Team 1 at this year’s Science Bowl. Team 1 members included Xiare Simmons (9th grade), Annabet Walters (10th grade), Keemar Croskey (10th grade), Samir Boucenna (11th grade) and Ryan Ferdinand Jr. (12th grade).

In the Middle School Division, the Church of God Holiness Academy emerged victorious, with participating students Knala Hendrickson, Naazir Joseph, Jayden Morales and Armani Carr. Placing 2nd in the Middle School Division was Pearl B. Larsen PreK-8 School, represented by Hana Bronstein, Kameryn Padgett, Brock Gorman and Chrinity Pickering.
