March 5, 2008 – Applications for the 2008 Gertrude Lockhart Melchoir Scholarship given annually by the Sigma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. are now available. Application requirements include: applicant must be a graduating senior from a private or public school on St. Thomas-St. John, a GPA of 2.5 or better, an official transcript, an essay and evidence of community service. The deadline is April 4, according to a press release from Sigma Theta Omega.
