Two armed gunmen robbed a restaurant in the Mount Pleasant area of St. Croix Sunday evening, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to police, at 8:42 p.m. Sunday the 911 emergency call center dispatched officers to a report of a robbery in progress at Crucian Wings.
The cashier at the restaurant said she saw two unknown armed male individuals dressed in all black, wearing masks and gloves, enter the business. She was able to leave the restaurant and go to a nearby gas station to call for help. The suspects grabbed another employee and attempted to get her to open the cash register, but she was unable to.
The suspects took the cash register and fled on foot, police said. No one was injured during this incident.
