POWER OUTAGE DUE TO MALFUNCTIONING RELAY

April 24, 2001 – A malfunctioning generator relay was the cause of a district wide power outage Sunday, which left residents of St. Thomas and St. John powerless for nearly two hours.
According to a release from the Water and Power Authority, when the relay malfunctioned it caused Unit 15 to "trip" cutting service to 9 feeders.
