'Brownie' Was His Santa

All my childhood friends, my siblings, and I remember Brownie as Santa. His appearance signaled the beginning of Christmas break and is embedded in my mind as one of my fondest childhood memories. A few years ago while home on vacation, I ran across Brownie in Frenchtown. It was Christmas time and I, in my 30's now, told him that he was Santa when I was in kindergarten.
Always with a quick wit, he responded, "I was Santa when my grandmother was in kindergarten!"
