July 11, 2006 – Joseph Augustus Samuel, also known as "Daddy or "Joey" or "Bassie," died on June 27, at the Coler Memorial Hospital in New York. He was 98 years old.
He is survived by sons: Ira A. Jr., Joseph L., Michael and Nathaniel Samuel; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by six great-great- great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will not be a viewing. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, July 14, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
