Brief: Governor in Washington for Ceremony

Sept. 25, 2006 — Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has traveled to Washington, D.C., to attend the Alexander Hamilton Distinguished Award ceremony, according to a news release from the governor's office. He left Sunday.
While in the capital, Turnbull also plans to attend several meetings scheduled with the law firm of Winston and Strawn. In Turnbull's absence, Lt. Gov. Vargrave Richards has assumed the duties of acting governor, in accordance with the Revised Organic Act. Turnbull plans to return this weekend.
