UVICELL Seeks 10th Graders for SAT Prep

Sept. 27, 2006 – Tenth-grade students on St. Thomas and St. Croix are invited to apply to a three-year Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT) Preparatory Program offered by the University of the Virgin Islands Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center in partnership with the Prosser ICC Foundation Inc.
Classes will be held on UVI's St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses from 9 a.m. to noon, for 10 Saturdays each semester. The fall 2006 sessions begin on Saturday, Oct. 7. Space is limited to 20 students on each island and positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, according to a press release from UVICELL.
Applicants must be 10th-grade public high school students, with GPAs of 2.0 to 3.0. An administrative fee of $20 is required at orientation.
UVICELL is also seeking part-time English and math instructors for the SAT program. Applicants should fax their resumes to 692-4235.
