Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament Will Be Held July 15

July 9, 2007 – The Northside Sportfishing Club is luring anglers by the boatloads to its Annual Bastille Kingfish Tournament, which is set for 5:30 a.m., on Sunday, July 15, at Hull Bay Hideaway. Over $7000 in cash prizes will be awarded; seven night Royal Caribbean Cruise for two winner's drawing; a Divi Carina Bay Casino and Seaborne Airlines excursion; hotel stays; restaurant meals; luxury gifts and much more.
Men, women, boys and girls may enter the tournament. The entry fees are $35 for adults and $20 for juniors (ages 8-16). All entrants receive a goody bag, tournament T-shirt, tournament hat, and there will be a free Coors Light or Snapple bar from noon to 2 p.m.
Fishing categories include: Largest Kingfish, 2nd Largest Kingfish, 3rd Largest Kingfish, Best Captain, Best Boat, Best Male, Best Female, Best Junior Male, Best Junior Female, Largest Jack, Largest Bonito, Largest Mackerel, Largest Tuna, Largest Dolphin and Largest Barracuda.
There will also be a "Catch in the Hat" Award for kids. All junior angler names will be placed in a hat and nine names will be drawn at random. The first 16 names will receive $50 cash, and the next two win $100 dollars each, for a total award of $1000. Juniors must be present at the awards ceremony to win.
Due to limited parking at Hull Bay Beach, a continuous free shuttle, compliments of Hull Bay Hideaway, will run from the parking lot at Sib's on the Mountain to Hull Bay Beach from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Jump on or off at Sib's or anywhere along Hull Bay Road (Highway 37).
Anglers can pre-register at Neptune Fishing or Bryan's Electric. There will be a captains' meeting and registration: at 7:30 p.m., Friday July 13, at Hull Bay Hideaway
Late Registration will be held from noon to 7 p.m., Saturday, July 14.
Tiny Players of St. Barth's Dancers will perform at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, July 15, and the weigh-in and party will start at noon. Cool Sessions Brass will play from noon to 5 p.m.; Obsession Band will play from 5-11 p.m.; the awards ceremony will begin at 8 p.m.
Captains are asked to come to Hull Bay at 4 p.m., Saturday, July 14, when Caribbean Petroleum will be on hand to fuel them up.
The tournament will benefit the Joseph Sibilly School, St. Thomas Rescue, American Red Cross, Kidscope and the Family Resource Center.
The event sponsors are Coors Light, Snapple, Offshore Marine, Yanmar, Yamaha, FedEx Express, N.E.M. (West Indies) lnsurance Limited, and Topa Insurance Services Inc.
