Dear Source:
To address the articles that have been in the news of late about the Narcotic Strike Force: Yes, there may have been 'bad' people working for the Drug Enforcement Bureau, but after all the expose's that have been in the press about many of the local police, how can anyone say only the DEB has bad apples. And what happens to the good ones, the ones with families who have been working there and really believe in what they are doing in trying to rid the Virgin Islands of drug crime. What happens to them when it has already been stated that the other law enforcement agencies don't want to work with them? (Which also could have been part of the reason why they have had fewer aprehensions over the past few years) What happens to all their years of experience? Should they go become security guards at KMart?
These are actual people who hold these jobs, not just statistics. You're 'throwing out the baby with the bath water' if you're going to make everyone pay for what a few did. If DEB must be disbanded, then the employees should receive a similar position with equeal pay and seniority.
