Dear Source:
I read an interesting comment attributed to the park Superintendent during his presentation at a Rotary meeting. The statement essentially went, " the Delegate's plan would set a precedent in that it would set the stage in other national parks for things like leasing land for cattle grazing". I am paraphrasing here but that's the gist. I find it odd that anyone could compare a drive to educate our youth more effectively with a commercial enterprise to lease land for cattle grazing. A more appropriate comparison might have been leasing land for cattle grazing to leasing land for oil exploration which is what the Bush Administration has apparently been backing for quite some time.
