Brief: Water Service Now Available All Day on Weekends

Sept. 26, 2008 — Water service on St. Thomas will now be available all day Saturdays and Sundays, according to the V.I. Water and Power Authority.
Under its water-conversation schedule, WAPA will continue to provide normal operating pressures between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. Service will be at reduced pressure outside these operating hours, according to a WAPA news release.
"Customers at higher elevations can expect reduced or a total loss of pressure during the scheduled reduced-pressure hours," the release said. "These schedules are implemented as a precautionary measure in order to preserve extremely low water reserves."
