John J. Farchette Jr., also known as “Sonny,” of Work and Rest died on Aug. 11, at the Veterans Hospital in Puerto Rico. He was 80 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ana Farchette; sons: John and Carlos Farchette; daughter, Elizabeth Betzaida Farchette; sisters: Catherine, Virginia, Pauline and Rafaelita; brother, George; grandchildren: Annaliesa, Daemond, John, Marissa, Vinchenzo, Antonio and Enrico; step grandchild, Cristin; great-grandchildren: Arianna, Jacob and Audrianna; daughters-in-law: Nora and Elizabeth; cousins: Mavis, Joan, Vincente, Eloise, Louie and Lydia; as well as many other special relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Holy Cross Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery/Veterans Section. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Legion Post 85, P.O. Box 1331, Frederiksted, VI 00841. Funeral arrangements are by James Memorial Funeral Home.
