Viya has announced that TV2 has a new address on Viya’s Cable TV channel lineup: Channel 4.
Viya is in the process of fully restoring Cable TV service throughout the territory, and it is using the restoration period to revamp the look and the lineup of its local offering.
First, TV2’s local news will now air on Channel 4 on a regular basis. The format will be more contemporary, and it will also be extended to TV2’s Facebook page and YouTube.
Second, local favorites like “Best Bites” and “VI Ambassadors” will also return with new episodes. “Best Bites” showcases Virgin Islands restaurants and the award-winning culinary scene in the U.S.V.I.; “VI Ambassadors” provides a look into the lives and accomplishments of Virgin Islanders who are impacting the Caribbean and the world. From business leaders to artists, the show highlights the fact that Virgin Islanders are making an indelible mark on the world.
Local entrepreneur and radio talk show personality Lesley Comissiong will host “Save More VI,” a new consumer education program that will help Virgin Islanders maximize their budgets.
Another instant classic is “21 Questions,” which premiered after Hurricane Maria. The host rapidly fires a series of questions at local dynamic guests and the audience is always pleasantly surprised by the candid and often hilarious responses.
Special events like the 2018 U.S. Virgin Islands Carnival and other festivities from Judy’s Gypsyville Carnival Village will also be on Channel 4 and streaming live on TV2’s Facebook page. Attendees at the village and surrounding areas will also be able to enjoy exceptional Wi-Fi service compliments of Viya.
The aforementioned shows are merely a sample of the types of programming that will be featured on Channel 4. As promised, rich content from neighboring islands will also be a robust part of the lineup. The V.I. is the melting pot of the Caribbean, and many residents appreciate news and information from their place of origin or ancestors’ home. Channel 4 and Channel 504, in high-definition, are the new addresses for all things local and regional. These channels will be a true reflection of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
