Missing Woman Found Dead on St. Thomas

 

The body of a woman reported missing on April 15 was found dead on Friday, April 22 in the bush along a private road on St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The body of Eduviges Mercedes Amparo, 44, was found by a St. Thomas resident who was cutting grass along the road in the Crown and Hawk area, VIPD reported.

The concerned citizen called 911 at 2:57 p.m. and reported that she was cutting grass when she saw an unresponsive woman lying in the bush, it said.

The woman was identified as Amparo by next of kin. The cause of death is unknown, pending the Medical Examiner’s findings, the VIPD statement said.
