A St. Croix man has been arrested and charged for entering a woman’s home without her permission and then physically assaulting her, the V.I. Police Department reported Monday.

On July 5, a female victim reported that an armed man entered her home without her permission. She stated that he physically assaulted her and broke property inside the house, according to the police report.

On Monday, members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested 26-year-old Heriberto Perez. He was charged with burglary in the first degree DV, simple assault, and destruction to others’ property DV, the police report stated.

Perez was arrested and advised of his Miranda Rights. No bail was set as per the Domestic Violence law and he was transported to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility, where he was remanded pending his advice of rights hearing on Wednesday at the Superior Court, police said.
