St. Thomas Man Arrested on Several Domestic Violence Charges

A St. Thomas man who was wanted on several domestic violence charges has been taken into custody, the V.I. Police Department reported Friday.

On Thursday, the Criminal Investigation Bureau traveled to the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, located at Barbel Plaza South, and made contact with one Marvin A. Rivera, Jr. regarding an ongoing domestic violence investigation, according to the police report.

Upon making contact with Rivera, he was taken into custody and transported to the Alexander A. Farrelly Justice Complex, Criminal Investigation Bureau for questioning, the police report stated.

He was advised and subsequently charged with stalking under the Domestic Violence Law, unlawful entry (DV), telephone harassment (DV), contempt of court (DV), destruction of property (DV), disturbance of the peace (DV), assault in the second degree (DV), cyberstalking and harassment (DV), burglary in the third degree (DV), simple assault (DV), grand larceny, burglary in the second degree, printing, exhibiting or distributing or possessing obscenity, the report stated.

Rivera, 45, was booked, processed, and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing. No bail was set by order of the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, police said.
