Island Green’s 4th Annual Earth Month Raffle Offers Chance to Win $11,000 ‘Love City Vacation for Two’

Island Green Living Association – St. John USVI

In keeping with this year’s Earth Day theme of ‘Planet vs. Plastic,’ entrants in nonprofit Island Green Living’s “Love City Vacation for Two” raffle will make strides towards winning the battle against plastics pollution on the island while putting themselves in the running for an amazing seven-night holiday on St. John, valued at $11,000. Island Green Living extends a huge thank you to the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism and local partners that contributed components and helped put this package together. Please visit and support these organizations.

All entries will be treated as donations to Island Green Living Association. To purchase a ticket, please visit Island Green’s Earth Month Fundraiser (www.bit.ly/LoveCityVacation). Entrants will choose the number of tickets.* From there, they will be taken to a secure PayPal page where they can check out.

Please make certain your correct email is used. Island Green plans to tape the live raffle drawing and notify the winner by email. All entrants will receive a confirmation email from PayPal after purchasing tickets, provided they are a registered PayPal user. The email from PayPal will serve as confirmation of entry into the drawing.

How the drawing works: The raffle committee will generate a raffle ticket with the entrant’s name – one for each $50 donated (6 for $250 or 25 for $1,000*). From these tickets, a winner will be drawn. The drawing will take place live via Island Green Living’s Facebook page at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 4, and the winner will be announced.

*Those who donate $1,000 via the “Multiple Donations” button will receive 25 tickets.

Island Green Living operates the island’s only aluminum and ocean-bound plastic recycling programs and the Resource Depot, St. John’s only reuse store, which has saved nearly 1,000,000 lbs. of building materials, furnishings, clothing etc. from the landfill, as well as other sustainable endeavors.

The Fine Print:

The “Love City Escape for Two” vacation package is limited to two people, valid from May – Dec. 20, 2024 and April 26 – Dec. 19, 2025. They are subject to space availability and certain blackout periods (weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Year’s, President’s Day, Easter, July 4th). Some businesses/restaurants may be closed during hurricane season and it is the winner’s responsibility to verify hours of operations for gift certificate redemption.

The winner must adhere to the individual property/business rules and restrictions including the provision of a credit card number for holds/damage deposits, etc. In the event that a property/business becomes uninhabitable due to a storm, fire or Act of God, the winner agrees to forfeit the prize. We strongly encourage the winner to purchase travel insurance. None of the prizes are transferable without the business owner’s consent and are not redeemable for cash. As required by the IRS, a 1099 will be issued for the value of the prize package.

Car Rental: Due to limited inventory available on the island, a minimum three-month advance notice is required for booking. It must be booked online with a valid credit card and driver’s license. A $100 deposit is required to reserve/hold the vehicle. No cash back for any unused portion of the rental.

Celebrating 20 years in operation this year, Island Green Living Association is a registered 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization on St. John dedicated to sustainability throughout the USVI. www.islandgreenliving.org
