The USVI Cup is returning to St. Croix as part of the Caribbean Cup Tennis Series. The two consecutive International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Tournaments will take place between May 6-10 and May 13-17 at the landmark Buccaneer Hotel in Christiansted.

St Croix will welcome players from around the world, including Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Ireland, New Zealand, China, France, Canada and the U.S.

The tournament is an opportunity to continue the development of tennis in the U.S. Virgin Islands, with three local players already in the main draw competing alongside players from around the world. For international players, their families and coaches, in addition to tennis, they will also have an opportunity to discover the local culture, lifestyle and tranquil beaches of St. Croix.

Among those joining this week, top local player Yared Alfred is currently the 4th seed, while the girls top seed, Laurence Demers, comes off a strong performance at the recent J30 ITF in Guadeloupe where she reached the final.

The tournament offers a packed schedule, starting at 8 a.m. daily, with finals for both boys and girls singles and doubles on the Thursday/Friday of each week (finals times TBD).

Tournament organizers estimate more than 300 players, coaches and parents will be on the island during the two weeks.
