UPDATE: Missing St. Croix Teen Found Safe

Aug. 16, 6:13 a.m.:
Missing 17-year-old Merika Scafe appeared at the Wilbur Francis Command police station in Frederiksted, St. Croix, at 9:07 p.m. on Monday, the V.I. Police Department reported. She appeared to be safe and is now in the custody of her mother, it said.
Aug. 15, 2:47 p.m.:

The V.I. Police Department is asking the community’s help in locating a missing teen, Merika Scafe, 17, who was last seen around 9 p.m. Aug. 8 at her home at 1082 William’s Delight, Frederiksted, St. Croix.

Merika was wearing her Educational Complex High School uniform at the time, police said. She is Black with a dark complexion and brown eyes, is 4 feet, 11 inches tall, and weighs 100 pounds, they said.

Anyone who sees Merika or knows of her whereabouts should contact Officer Jane Ann St. Hall at 340-778-2211, Crime Stoppers V.I. at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or 911.
