St. Thomas Man Surrenders After Gun Incident

A St. Thomas man who pointed a firearm at two people in Emancipation Garden surrendered to authorities on Monday, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Kishon Melford Herbert self-surrendered after being informed that there was an active warrant for his arrest. Herbert was identified as the individual who pointed a firearm at two individuals in Emancipation Garden on or about April 25, according to the police report.

Herbert, age 39, was arrested, booked, and processed. Bail was set at $25,000 and he was charged with assault in the third degree, possession of a firearm during a third-degree assault, brandishing a firearm, simple assault, and reckless endangerment which is considered a misdemeanor, the police report stated.

This case is presently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
