Man Shot in Downtown Charlotte Amalie

A St. Thomas man was shot Wednesday in downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On Wednesday, VIPD officers were dispatched to Commandant Gade regarding a gunshot victim, according to the police report.

When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with the victim, who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his right inner thigh. When asked, the victim stated that he felt fine and that he did not need medical assistance, the police report stated.

After some time, the victim made the decision to go to Roy Lester Schneider Medical Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The victim declined to give a statement and told the detectives that he had no knowledge of who was responsible for his injuries, the report stated.
