The annual St. John PanORama played out Saturday night at the National Park Ballfield with six bands rendering musical favorites old and new. Performers of all ages took turns entertaining a crowd that listened from the bleachers surrounding the field.
After an afternoon enjoying culinary delights at the St. John Celebration Food Fair, the mild evening breeze brought refreshment to many in the audience. Some were encouraged to wander out on the field to surround performing bands, snap photos and — if they wished to — dance.
Yard Vybes Steelpan Orchestra, Ulla Muller Elementary School Panatics, St. Thomas All Stars Steel Orchestra, Genfusion Steel Orchestra, Pan in Motion, and the Rising Stars Youth Steel Orchestra filled the perimeter of the field with shiny instruments and musicians dressed in colorful T-shirts. They were welcomed by the Love City Pan Dragons, St. John’s hometown band. Together, they delivered a three-hour evening of music for fans, passersby, and patrons of Morgan’s Mango Restaurant across the road from the venue.
The audience also enjoyed a special performance by the Love City Core Squad featuring baton twirlers, pom pom dancers, and toddlers.
PanORama 2025 took place in the same area where the unofficial St. John Celebration Children’s Village is scheduled to open Monday. Over the years, the children’s village has offered games, snow cones, and cotton candy in the National Park Visitor’s Center Parking Lot.
