USVI’s 23rd COVID-19 Fatality Confirmed

The V.I. Department of Health on Tuesday announced the territory’s 23rd COVID-19 related death.

In a news release issued on Tuesday, the department said the deceased was a 58-year-old female on St. Thomas.

The death brings the St. Thomas total of COVID-19 fatalities to 15, with another seven from St. Croix and one from St. John.

The Department of Health urged residents to continue to follow precautionary measures to slow the spread of the disease. These are:
– Stay at home,
– Practice social distancing,
– Wear a mask when in the company of others outside of those in your household,
– Clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and
– Wash hands often with soap and warm water.

Residents can report a suspected case of COVID-19 by calling 340-712-6299 or 340-776-1519. A medical emergency can be reported by calling 911.
