Man Arrested in Connection with Alleged 2019 Rape

Police have arrested a man on St. Croix in connection with an alleged sexual assault in 2019, according to a press release from the V.I. Police Department.

Cecil Douglas turned himself in at the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station at 11:28 a.m. Sunday after police issued a warrant for his arrest in September, following an investigation into the assault complaint that was filed on Nov. 25, 2019, according to the press release. 

Douglas was placed under arrest for first-degree aggravated rape, first-degree unlawful sexual, and aggravated child Abuse and neglect, the release stated. He was booked and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights Hearing set for Monday at the V.I. Superior Court.
