Police Make Arrest in Harbor View Homicide, 2nd Suspect Sought

On May 7 at 1:17 a.m. residents called 911 to report shots fired at the Harbor View housing community. Police found an unresponsive body of an adult male, lying in the plant bed near the office. The male had multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and head and succumbed to his injuries.

Multiple spent casing was collected during the processing of the crime scene. The deceased man was identified as Sean Joseph, also known as Akeem Williams by his next of kin. Joseph was released from jail less than 24 hours earlier.

Video surveillance footage collected in the area assisted the investigation and led police to secure an arrest warrant for 42-year-old Timothy Perez who was allegedly observed on footage firing multiple shots at the deceased.

Perez was arrested June 2 and charged with Murder in the First Degree. Bail for Perez was set by Magistrate Yolan Ross at $1,000,000 with no 10 percent bond option.

He was transported to the St. Croix John Bell Correctional facility pending his advise of rights hearing scheduled for Friday, June 3.
