All orchid lovers are invited to Orchid Awareness Inc.’s first show. It opens at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts in Frederiksted on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and continues on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry will be $5 per person, with children 12 and under free if accompanied by an adult.

This is an American Orchid Society-sanctioned show. Among the judges will be Will Riley, president of the World Orchid Congress. He will also be a presenter during the show.

Formed in November 2017, the Orchid Awareness group seeks to enhance knowledge and appreciation of orchid cultivation on St. Croix. The group meets on the third Saturday of the month at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts. Membership is $40 annually. World-renowned speakers in various areas of orchid cultivation have spoken at the meetings. Orchid Awareness Inc. can be contacted at orchidawarenessvi@gmail.com.

Beautiful and colorful orchids of many varieties will be on display from growers on St. Croix. Orchids, orchid-themed jewelry and paintings will be for sale throughout the show.
