St. John Burglary Suspect Arrested

On May 4, a man was arrested and charged with unlawful entry and trespassing at a villa located on Kline Bay Road on St. John, the V.I. Police Department reported. 

According to press release, on April 28 a property manager observed an unfamiliar vehicle parked in the driveway of the villa. The property manager conducted an inspection of the premises and when they got to the main door, an unknown man opened the door, according to the report.

Police said an investigation revealed that the unknown man entered the premises without permission from the occupants. He gained entrance by damaging a door and subsequently entered a vehicle that was parked in the driveway and left the area, police reported. 

The man was later identified as Vanel Prentice, 33, from St. Thomas. He was charged with burglary in the third degree, unlawful entry, and trespassing, according to the report. The bail was set at $25,000, according to press release.
