Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges

A Puerto Rican man plead guilty to drug possession charges, U.S. Attorney Delia L. Smith announced Friday. 

According to police, on Sept. 22, 2020, Emanuel Campbell Camacho was observed exiting a hotel and entered a vehicle that traveled to the parking lot. Camacho later exited the vehicle and approached the passenger side of another vehicle where he removed a duffle bag and placed it into his vehicle. 

Camacho then returned to the hotel where police witnessed Camacho, approach Rafael Velez-Lopez near the top of the stairs. 

Police stated after Velez-Lopez’s arrest, they inspected the duffel bag and discovered 30 bricks of cocaine. Federal sentencing for one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine will be determined after consideration of guidelines and other statutory factors.
