Crimes of the Week: Crime Stoppers Highlights Gun Homicide and Two Shootings

Two recent St. Thomas shootings and an April gun homicide on St. Thomas are the Crime Stoppers Crimes of the Week for the last week of June.

On Monday, June 28, 2021 at about 7:35 pm, Patrol Units were dispatched to the area of Holy Family Church, St. Thomas, in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival of the undersigned, contact was made with the victim who was laying on his back, bleeding from the stomach. The Emergency Medical Technicians responded to the gunshot victim and he was transported via ambulance to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital. Contact was made with the victim at Schneider Regional Medical Center who stated that two masked men approached him while he was sitting down by the stairway in the area of Excess Quality Restaurant. The victim also stated that when they shot at him, he fell to the ground and they fled the area on foot. The victim went on to state that he has no knowledge of who may have shot him.

On Monday, June 28, 2021 at 7:59 pm, Patrol Units were dispatched to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital, St. Thomas, in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival of the undersigned, contact was made with the victim who stated that three masked men all dressed in black approached him and told him “GIVE ME YOUR CHAIN.” The victim stated that he heard a shot and he fell to the ground. The victim went on to state that he was transported via private vehicle to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital. The victim then stated that he has no knowledge of who may have shot him.

On April 28, 2020, at around 6:51AM, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of what appeared to be a body of a male in the bushes east of Cramer’s Park Beach, St. Croix. Officers responding to the scene found the body of a male, dead from an apparent gunshot wound. No form of identification was found on the victim’s body, however, after DNA testing was completed, the victim was identified as 19-year-old Emanuel Moise, from St. Croix. In September 2020, the cause of death was determined to be from multiple gunshot wounds.
