Police Charge 19-Year-Old with Burglary

Officers o the V.I. Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested Elieser Edwards, a 19-year-old resident of the Paul M. Pearson Housing Community on St. Thomas and charged him with first-degree burglary.

The arrest took place at 8 p.m. Thursday.

According to the police report, the arrest stemmed from a victim arriving to the Criminal Investigation Bureau on at 3:15 p.m. June 10 to report an incident that occurred three days prior. The victim said a masked male entered her residence with a firearm in hand. A fight ensued and during the struggle the mask came off and the victim was able to identify Edwards, police said.

The victim sustained injuries that included bruising about the body and lacerations to the head.

Edwards was turned over the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
