Man Shot Monday Morning on St. Thomas

A St. Thomas man was shot as he pulled into his driveway early Monday and treated for his injuries at the Schneider Regional Medical Center, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at about 3:56 a.m. Monday members of the Major Crime Unit and Criminal Investigation Bureau were dispatched to the hospital in relation to a report of a gunshot victim. At the hospital, the victim – whose name was withheld by police in pursuance of department policy – who said he had just pulled up in his driveway when he heard multiple shots. The police report did not indicate where the incident took place.

The victim said he had been hit in his right shoulder. He had been transported to Schneider, where he received treatment for his injuries.

Police urged anyone with information about this crime to contact the VIPD at 340-774-2211, the Major Crime Unit at 340-714-9830, or the CIB at 340-714-9807. People with information also can contact the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477
